Welcome to Maintena

What Maintena does, the idea behind it, and how this documentation is organised.

In short: Maintena watches your website around the clock, explains what it finds in plain words, and, where you want it, fixes it for you. This is the best place to start.

What Maintena is

Maintena watches your WordPress website around the clock, then tells you what it found in plain English and, where you want it, does something about it.

Most monitoring tools stop at raw data: a graph here, an alert there, a score with no explanation. Maintena is built on a simple idea instead. Software is very good at watching every signal, every minute, without getting tired. People are very good at judgement, context, and getting the work done. Maintena pairs the two:

  • The AI watches. It checks whether your site is up, how fast it loads, whether your security certificate is valid, whether any plugin has a known vulnerability, whether the layout has visibly changed, and how your traffic and search visibility are moving.
  • Your Success Manager acts. A vetted specialist turns those signals into a short, plain-English plan and, on managed plans, carries out the work.

The result is a single, calm view of your site's health, and a clear answer to the only question that really matters: what should I do next.

What Maintena watches

Maintena brings a set of monitoring signals together under one roof. Each one has its own page in this documentation.

Signal What it answers
Health Score Is my site healthy overall, in one number from 0 to 100?
Uptime Is my site reachable right now, and was it ever down?
SSL & Domain Is my certificate valid, and when does my domain expire?
Speed & Performance How fast is my site, measured the way Google measures it?
Security & Vulnerability Does any plugin or theme have a known security issue?
Visual Change Detection Has a page visibly broken or changed without warning?
Business Intelligence What is my traffic and search visibility actually doing?
Reports Can I get a clean summary to keep or share?

Everything starts from one connection: a lightweight companion plugin, the WordPress Agent, that securely reports your site's status back to Maintena.

Who Maintena is for

  • Small businesses who want their website looked after without having to become website experts.
  • Agencies and web teams who manage many sites and need one place to see them all.
  • Government and education teams who need uptime, security, and audit-ready reporting across a large estate of sites.

How this documentation is organised

This site, Maintena School, is grouped to match how the product fits together:

  • Introduction covers the basics: this page, and Getting Started.
  • Platform foundation explains how your site connects to Maintena and how that connection stays reliable.
  • Monitoring suite has one page per signal Maintena watches.
  • Client value & operations covers what Maintena produces for you: intelligence, reports, alerts, and billing.

Pages marked "Coming soon" are being written and will appear here as they are published.

Where to go next

If you are new, start with Getting Started. It walks you through connecting your first site and shows you what happens in the first few minutes.

If you want to understand the headline number first, read Health Score.
